London: Jose Maurinho has told Juan Mata and Micheal Essien they can quit Chelsea if they wish.

The Blues boss insists he will not put the duo up for sale.

But he said: "When the window is open, anything can happen. If someone really wants to leave and someone does leave, we probably have to bring to do things in a very calm way."

Spain hopeful Mata was subbed in Wednesday's 3-0 win at Southampton, while Ghana midfielder Essien started on the bench.
